Health and Safety - Air Quality

Air Quality Index (AQI) Guidance

• 0-100: Games and training should be played
• 100-150: Training may continue with modified sessions to avoid prolonged strenuous activity particularly in age groups under the age of 12. Games can be rescheduled -
decision to be made by the clubs/teams involved. Both teams need to agree to playing the game.
• 150+: All Trainings cancelled. Games should be canceled and rescheduled

Our official source for AQI guidance is www.Airnow.gov. As a club we recognize the inherent issues with the timeliness of the Airnow AQI updates. Given those limitations we are using fire.airnow.gov which supplies more timely updates from third parties. A reminder that the AQI guidance above should be used when deciding whether or not to cancel NorCal games. Clubs, including AYSO United, have been asked by Norcal to please wait until the day of the game before canceling, if possible, due to the nature of air quality readings, as they can change quickly. Please make every effort to collaboratively reschedule any games that need to be canceled, so that the kids can still play the game during the season.

Health and Safety - Covid-19 Protocol

Club Guidance - Communication of Potential COVID Exposure at Trainings and Games

With the aim of both minimizing the risk of COVID spread in our community and providing as safe of a playing environment as possible at AYSO United we ask that all Coaches, Players and Families follow the most recent guidance from CDPH and the local county public health department regarding testing, self-isolation, quarantining and reporting (see links below for CDPH) when discovering a positive COVID case within the club.

If a positive case is discovered within a team that either may have caused exposure to players at a previously played game/training or has the potential to cause an exposure at an upcoming game/training, the club admin or team manager is expected to communicate this information at the earliest possible opportunity, via email, to the following individuals. This is to enable our soccer community to take the necessary steps to both prevent further exposure and ensure that the relevant testing, self-isolation, quarantining, and reporting processes, as outlined by public health authorities, are followed.

COVID Protocols

As an organization, NorCal Premier Soccer will continue to follow, and require NorCal Member Club to follow, the most recent public health guidelines and requirements from CDPH and/or local county public health authorities, in order to ensure player and spectator safety at Soccer competitions. We are monitoring these guidelines closely and will communicate any significant changes to coaches,
managers, players and families as and when they occur.

For NorCal competitions, if a team is unable to play a game due to COVID exposure within the team, this will be considered an “accident or Act of God"; as per NorCal’s competition rules. Please see the NorCal Handbook (Section 2.5 ‘Cancellation/Forfeit Policy’) for more details on how to address this situation with your opposition team and NorCal event coordinators.
